We had an amazing time touring our neighborhood of #RamatEshkol — with our Rakazot, Madrichot, Mrs. Leidner, Mrs. Brown and more — during the “Meet the Street” activity.

During Orientation Week, groups of incoming Bnot Torah/Sharfman’s students explored the streets of Ramat Eshkol, becoming familiar with the neighborhood and its vibrant atmosphere. The informal tour allowed students to meet faculty members outside the classroom, with Madrichot, Rakezot, and staff like Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Leidner guiding them through parks, markets, and the Ramat Eshkol Shopping Promenade.

“Students loved discovering the nearby cafes, pharmacies, and stores, and were excited to learn that many of our faculty live close by,” said Mrs. Debbi Nissel, Chessed Coordinator.

The “Meet the Street” tour, a highlight of Orientation Week, helps students adjust to life in seminary and in Israel. “This tour teaches them about their new neighborhood and gives them a chance to practice what they’ve learned about Kashrut,” explained Rabbi Michoel Green, Overseas Director.

Students also enjoyed discovering where to buy familiar American products and recognizing Kashrut symbols learned during orientation. One student shared, “Sharfman’s really made us feel at home. It was a great way to meet teachers and get to know my Rakezet!”
