With Purim fast approaching, it was time to dive in to the true Purim spirit. Off we trooped to our Rakezet’s house, wondering what the evening would bring. We were greeted by the tantalizing smell of fresh soup, veggies and an assortment of savory hamentaschen-yum!!!! Deli hamentaschen, eggroll hamentaschen, quiche hamentaschen- they looked amazing and tasted even better!
The evening was devoted to the festivities of the chag, bringing us a little taste of what’s coming next week. Wow I can’t believe it’s almost Purim! Our Rakezet then informed us that we were making hamentashen. We got to work, eagerly combining the ingredients, and formed delicious, professional looking hamentashen.
We chose from a variety of fillings including pie filling, nutella, and peanut butter. We meant to save them for Shabbos at the very least, but we couldn’t help ourselves as the super enticing scent wafting out of the kitchen got the better of us. Our favorite was of course the “Reese’s” flavored hamentashen (a perfect blend of chocolate and peanut butter)-they were out of this world! We capped off the evening with a crazy fun competition, where our Rakezet divided us into teams and we had to complete a bunch of really fun races. We had an absolute blast and danced and sang into the night. Now we were ready for Purim! Thanks for another unforgettable Bayit Cham!
