Best of all, when we arrived at her door, she told us that the party was not going to simply be in her house—but in her stunning rooftop Sukkah! To describe her Sukkah would not do it justice. Her Sukkah was soo beautiful and festive—there was even a chandalier in it—and being in her Sukkah really enhanced the setting for our exclusively Sharfman's Simchas Beis Hashoeva! Plus, who can forget that there was wonderful music and great food. In fact, we were joined by a talented young musician, Meira, who also happens to be an alumnae of our school. She really increased the spiritual energy in the Sukkah as she led us in a beautiful Kumzitz and dancing throughout the evening! Best of all, our teacher, Rabbi Kahane, surprised us by knocking on the door of the Sukkah and giving us a meaningful shiur on the significance of Hoshana Rabbah! We all left with a great feeling of warmth

What an evening!! We just got back from our first incredible Bayit Cham at the home of our Chonechet, Mrs. Rachel Rose! And talk about a royal welcome!-there was no need for a red carpet, as awaiting our arrival was an absolutely delicious French onion soup with scrumptious garlic bread to go with it. Then, as we were all still savoring the super taste in our mouths, out came steaming hot yummy whole-wheat baked ziti, and of course a fresh, seasoned salad to top it off. We know what you’re thinking…now YOU’RE getting hungry!! But wait...the best part was yet to come! Our Chonechet returned from the oven with the most unbelievable mouth-watering molten milk chocolate chip cakes for dessert! This was too good to be true! Those cakes disappeared before we could even say thank you!! At this point in the evening I realized just how much the Faculty here cares about you and it's really true that: "Sharfman's is a FAMILY!"

We know what you’re thinking…now YOU’RE getting hungry!! But wait…the best part was yet to come! Our Chonechet returned from the oven with the most unbelievable mouth-watering molten milk chocolate chip cakes for dessert! This was too good to be true! Those cakes disappeared before we could even say thank you!! At this point in the evening I realized that it is really what they say, “Sharfman’s is a FAMILY!” Here we are on our Sukkos Vacation, and yet we are all bonding and having a great time at the local home of our Chonechet!

The Bayit Cham evening continued as we divided into teams to begin our first awesome activity: a cake decorating competition! Each team was given their own cake and asked to decorate it with an appropriate theme, such as Sukkos, Bayit Cham, etc. The team that presented it in the most creative way won! What a talented crew we have! We had such a blast decorating (and yes, eating) our adorable cakes while composing original songs and poems to help us present it in the best way possible. Each team brought their very best to the table…it was so hard to decide on a winner!

We then moved on to a really fun and super chilled ‘getting-to-know-each- other’ game. This definitely let us in on some interesting new facts we never knew about each other! We ended up collapsing on to the couches and schmoozing and laughing the night away. We loved having such a warm, comfy, and homely environment in which to spend time with each other. What a perfect start to the Sukkos break! We can’t wait ‘till our next Bayit Cham!!! Chag Sameach

It was such a blast!! We were greeted with a yummy supper of baked ziti and a fresh veggie platter (with a great dip of course!). All of us really enjoyed having a homecooked dinner! After we were all satiated with food and shmooze, out came a beautiful pink surprise birthday cake for both Joanie Tawil and Renanna Pellman :) The evening continued with us discussing and writing down personal goals for our year in Israel at Bnot Torah/Sharfman's. We can't wait to see how much we've accomplished when we open our envelopes after Pesach! We then gathered around and had some inspirational time with Charlie Harary and his videos on Yom Kippur and personal growth. We all came away with some powerful messages!

And last, but definitely not least, we ended off with some Sukkos preparations. We broke out the supplies and constructed our very own edible Sukkah! We got to design our Sukkah using tea biscuits

And last, but definitely not least, we ended off with some Sukkos preparations. We broke out the supplies and constructed our very own edible Sukkah! We got to design our Sukkah using tea biscuits, a lot of marshmallow fluff, tasty green sour sticks and pretzel sticks. Plus, some of us even managed to attach some chains for decorations! We’re not sure what was more fun, making them or eating them! Bayit Cham is really a great place where all of the Shana Aleph girls from all of the various levels get to come together and further hang out and unify their goals and aspirations for their year in Sharfman’s! We all look forward to the next awesome Bayit Cham!
