EXCLUSIVE Certificate in Jewish Leadership!
November 29, 2011
For the first time ever in the esteemed history of Bnot Torah/Sharfman’s, Thursday Night is no longer simply, Thursday Night. Rather, we have entered into an exclusive relationship with the legendary Aish HaTorah to offer you a Jewish Leadership Seminar Series. Plus, students will have the opportunity to take this course and receive a Certificate in Jewish Leadership! The Jewish Leadership Seminar Series features an amazing array of popular and inspiring speakers who will visit us throughout the course of our academic year to enlighten us with a unique and relevant approach to various relevant topics in Judaism, and by extension, empower our students to be recognized as LEADERS at the individual and communal level. In fact, you, the student can even suggest a topic that you want enlightenment on, and your topic just might be the featured as well. The speakers include the likes of Extreme Surfer, Rabbi Yom Tov Glaser, to Mrs. Naomi Rivkah Most, Rabbi Menachem Nissel, and everyone laughed ’till it hurt, with hilarious and practical insights from…

Our Famous ELECTIVE Workshop Classes Begin!
November 24, 2011
Recently, Mrs. Fuld and Rabbi Sharfman surprised us by hosting a special Bnot Torah/Sharfman’s Luncheon kicking off our school’s Maximizing Your Potential Elective Workshop Series. When we walked into the room we were all entranced by the stunning ambiance that the school created for us. We felt as if we were transported away from school and into a cute and warm soup shop. Best of all, we learned that we all had the option of signing up for one or more Bnot Torah/Sharfman’s Maximizing Your Potential ELECTIVE Workshop classes, that featured topics as varied as: ”You can be a JEWISH Supermodel!”, “All About the World of Chassidic Wisdom!”, “How to Experience Instant Karma!”, “A Sephardic Heritage Crash Course”, “How to Discover MY Derech”, “Unlock Your Inner Potential” and much more!!
All in all it was amazing to see how many of us really are interested in growth because although the ELECTIVE Workshops were held during free time, the overwhelming majority of us, signed up for numerous sessions. Each workshop, led by one of our very own Sharfman’s staff members, consisted of a number of encounters which…

An Oriental Themed Supper!
November 22, 2011
We glanced at our watches, walking quickly through the Jerusalem rain. It was 7:55, and we were anxiously anticipating what 8 o’clock would bring. The next Bayit Cham had finally arrived, and once again we were walking towards Rachel’s house, wondering what we would be surprised with tonight!
We entered the apartment, and peered around into the dining room…..hey, is that Chinese noodles we see?? Nori?? Chopsticks?? No way! All out Oriental Night!! The table was decorated with all the ingredients any professional Oriental chef would need……(sushi rice, wasabi, soy sauce, hot mayo, bamboo mats, an assortment of vegetables, etc.). Little Bamboo shoots stood proudly at the center of the table, welcoming us with true National flavor. We all dove in to the Jasmine tea… wow!… so refreshing! Of course the feeling wouldn’t be complete without sushi on the menu. Our Chonechet set about teaching us to make sushi, and to be honest, considering we were all amateurs at this, we were shocked to see how professional they ended up looking! It’s time to open up a new Kosher Sushi joint!

Guest Post by Mrs. Debbi Nissel, Chessed Coordinator
Hi everyone it’s Mrs. Nissel! By now all the girls have surely returned rejuvenated from our Sukkos break. In the weeks of school that we have had, the girls really possess an overall appreciation for all of the faculty and classes at Sharfman’s. Personally, I love being able to watch girls take the new knowledge that they acquire with each class and put it to use in daily activities. As I’m sure you know our goal in Sharfman’s is to allow you to acquire tools for life and forever move in a positive direction. As such, we want you to enhance your year in Israel not only through incredible classes but also by performing acts of Chessed! And so, as Chessed Coordinator, I personally meet with each and every student to build a unique Chessed opportunity that will allow you to maximize your Chessed experience.

2 Day Trip: Eastern Galil Experience!
November 15, 2011
We started our morning at the beautiful view of Mt. Arbel. It was an challenging yet exhilarating hike down the mountain, where we were able to enjoy some of the most stunning views in Israel. After we all conquered the mountains of Arbel, we headed over to Teveriya to the Keverim of the Rambam & Rabbi Yochanan Ben-Zakai. The highlight of the day was no doubt our visit to the Chocolate Factory where we had a tour of the factory and learned about the way they make the chocolate. After that, we all had the chance to make our own chocolates with whatever fillings and toppings we chose. It was truly a delicious experience.
After an amazing day touring and hanging out with friends, we checked into the Ron hotel in Tsfat. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, and had the chance to spend the rest of the night hanging out on the Tsfat midrichov, enjoying the shops and restaurants. In the morning we headed on a walking tour of Tsfat, visiting the ancient shuls and alleyways, learning about the history of the kabballah and mysticism that began in those very places. We visited the famous Candle factory, where many of us purchased souvenirs, gifts and Chanuka candles. We then had free time to go shopping in the Artist

Terrific Tie Dyeing Night with our Rakezet!
November 14, 2011
This past Wednesday night we had a great Rakezet Event! All of our various academic tracks as well came together to join our Rakezet for an evening we won’t forget! I don’t think anyone actually expected it to be so much fun, but when we got there, it was clear we were in for an amazing time. We all brought out our creative and artistic sides when we Tie Dyed our shirts, skirts, socks and pretty much anything else white that we wanted to! We all couldn’t wait to see how they turned out. It was a really fun activity and overall an enjoyable relaxing night spending time with so many girls in the school. And what’s more, our Rakezet was soo helpful throughout the evening. After all, many of us had never really actually Tie Dyed something of our own, let alone anything, ever before! Plus, just a day or two after the event we all got to show up in our Tie Dyed items and show off our new creations! All in all, it was an incredible night that we will never forget and we look forward to more opportunities that we constantly have to bond with each other as well as all of our amazing faculty here at Sharfman’s!

Rachel Imeinu Yarhzeit Evening of Inspiration!
November 13, 2011
We started the night off with an inspirational program. When we walked into the Bnot Torah/Sharfman’s Beit Midrash we were met by a huuge surprise! The energy of the entire Beit Midrash was transformed because the lights were off which created a special spiritual setting as well as enhanced the “listening experience!” Plus, a few girls recited different point of views and presented Divrei Torah that helped us all further our appreciation for Rachel Imeinu! We even heard people who took on the role of Yaakov Avinu and Leah Imeinu and last but certainly not least Rachel Imeinu! We had a GREAT Choir from some of the girls in our school. The entire evening was beautiful, moving, and inspiring!
It didn’t end there…
We then left on oure very own chartered bus to Kever Rachel and we were not the only ones there…The place was packed. Our Mechanechet, Mrs.Fuld, gave us ideas of what to daven. The night was a night of real enchantment!
